Ahhh the crockpot. Could it be the single greatest invention for the family ever?  Possibly. A crockpot, in case you haven’t ever used one, slow cooks food over several hours creating a tender and juicy product without extra fat added while cooking. There are hundreds of slow cooker recipes on the internet, and I think that it is a great way to recreate some of our favorite not-so-healthy choices. One I found recently is Crock Pot Sesame Honey Chicken. You can follow this recipe and use BROWN rice instead of white rice. Brown rice has extra protein and fiber. Who doesn’t love sesame chicken? And its a great way to sneak in some extra vegetables that will be tender when they cook all day. One pot cleanup, no large amount of work on the parents, and low fat too!  Enjoy!

Have a healthy week!,
