Jenny started volunteering with Louie’s Kids about five years ago. She was introduced to Louie’s Kids through Mary Zapatka, one of our amazing board members. Jenny and Mary met while volunteering together for an animal rescue organization.
Jenny’s first event was volunteering at Big Chef Little Chef. Like most who get a peek into Louie’s Kids she decided to keep coming back and last year took over the position of Volunteer Coordinator.
Favorite part of Volunteering: Jenny loves seeing the kids experience results through the program. Not only their weight loss, but the pride in what they have accomplished and their excitement to see that so many people reached out to help them.
Favorite Thing to do on a Saturday: Charleston has many beautiful plantations. Aside from their obvious historical value, they have a lot of other things to offer. One a pretty Saturday Jenny enjoys taking her bike out to Charles Towne Landing to enjoy the trials. Did you know Charles Town Landing has seven miles of paved and unpaved trails for visitors to enjoy?
Jenny is always happy to talk to volunteers to help them decide where to jump in and get involved. Click here if you’d like to join our team!
