HALF-MOON OUTFITS LOUIE'S KIDS

8/9/06

A family attending a unique weight loss summer camp on a scholarship from a local charity will enjoy dry clothes and blister-free feet thanks to the generous donation of Half-Moon Outfitters.

"Were very grateful for the support from our friends at Half-Moon Outfitters," said Louis Yuhasz, founder of Louie's Kids. "Our organization promotes healthy weight loss for kids based on a good diet, physical activity, and a love of the outdoors, and if you love the outdoors and you live in the Lowcountry, you gotta love Half-Moon Outfitters," he said.

Louie’s Kids, a Charleston-based non profit organization that fights childhood obesity, provided a scholarship for a mother and two children to attend a unique family weight loss camp in the woods of Northern Michigan. While the scholarship covered two weeks at the camp and transportation costs for the family, Half Moon Outfitters helped the family with the specialized gear they would need to brave the outdoors, including three pair of hiking boots and three sets of rain gear.

"We're thrilled to support the mission of Louie's Kids," said Half-Moon owner Beezer Moulton. "And we admire the family who've decided to tackle their weight and health problems by getting up and getting outside. We're glad we could be there to help them, and we hope they put a million miles on those boots," he said.
